This ministry's biggest expense is providing our course books to our facilitators who are involved in ministries to the incarcerated, recently released, homeless, and those in addiction or recovery programs.  All our workers are volunteers who have been specially trained to work with the materials.  We chose this labor-intensive, expensive-to-supply delivery system because it is effective.  Our clients have multiple and extensive needs which require the rich interactive atmosphere we provide.  We are dependent on other agencies, centers, prisons, jails, recovery centers, etc. to let us in to administer our program and almost all the time have to supply all the course books for free due to the fact that government agencies will not pay for our clients' course books or the simple fact that the recovery houses that use us are themselves strapped for funds and cannot pay for the books.

Because of limited funds, we have tried teaching without books in the hands of our clients, and it has not worked.  At one point our small group sessions dropped to 10% of the previous levels because our facilitators and clients became discouraged when faced with the costs of purchasing the books for clients who could not pay for them.
